Giant Skittles

Nine wooden pins, three balls, and a queue of children who will not leave it alone. Giant skittles is the one that keeps going all afternoon — the children who want to charge about are busy on the castle, and the ones who want a turn at something steady have somewhere to go.

Easy for little ones, and quietly competitive for the grown-ups once the children have worn themselves out.

What you get

• 9 wooden skittle pins
• 3 balls

Where it works

Indoors on a hall or function room floor, or outside on the grass. No power, no pump and nothing to peg down — put it where you want it and move it if it is in the way.

A good one to add to a bouncy castle or a party booking to fill the corner of the room that would otherwise sit empty.
