Our core business is delivering incredible children’s entertainment parties. Because our team is focused on that, we’ve shaped our bouncy castle hire around what we can do brilliantly — extended garden hire with proper setup, proper safety and no cutting corners.
If you need a castle for a village hall or hired venue, we’re probably not the right fit — and we’d rather be honest about that than let you down. ⚠️ Grass Surfaces Only — This is the Law, Not Just Our Policy
🚫 We Cannot Set Up on Hard Standing, Tarmac, Concrete, Decking or Artificial Grass. Here’s Exactly Why.
This is one of the most important things to understand before booking any bouncy castle company — not just us. Under British Standard BS EN 14960, the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and PUWER Regulations 1998, every inflatable must be securely anchored at all times. On grass, this is achieved with metal ground stakes — minimum 380mm long and 16mm wide — driven into the ground at 30–45 degrees.
On any hard surface — tarmac, concrete, decking, paving slabs or artificial turf — stakes cannot be used. The law requires 163kg of ballast weight per anchor point instead. With a minimum of 6 anchor points on any standard castle, that means a minimum of 978kg — nearly a tonne of sandbags per booking. That’s approximately 40 x 25kg sandbags, delivered separately, taking 90 minutes to place. No responsible bouncy castle company in the West Midlands offers this — because the logistics make it genuinely unworkable.
The Exact Legal Requirements — BS EN 14960 & HSE Guidance:
✅ 163kg minimum ballast per anchor point on any non-grass surface
✅ Minimum 6 anchor points on all inflatables (more on larger castles)
✅ Stakes: minimum 380mm long, 16mm wide, rounded top, welded D-ring
✅ Maximum wind speed: 24mph — castle must be shut down above this
✅ All inflatables must comply with BS EN 14960:2013
✅ PIPA or ADiPs certification required — always ask to see it
A word about the cowboys: Some companies will turn up with 6 small sandbags of 7–10kg each. That’s around 60kg total. The legal requirement is 978kg minimum. That’s not a small shortfall — it’s illegal, uninsured and genuinely dangerous. If the wind gets up, that castle moves. We have seen what happens. We will never, under any circumstances, set up a castle that is not properly secured — and neither should any responsible operator.
✅ Does your garden have grass? Brilliant — we’re good to go. The area needs to be reasonably flat, accessible without steps, and free of sharp objects. Not sure if your space is suitable? Just call us — we’re always happy to advise before you book.
🚌 About Our Delivery Fee — Complete Transparency
We charge a delivery fee of £10–£20 depending on your West Midlands postcode. Here’s why — and why we think it’s completely fair.
Every hire involves four separate trips from our base — out to deliver, back to base, out to collect, back to base again. With fuel prices where they are, covering those four journeys without a delivery contribution simply isn’t sustainable for a small family business. We’d rather be honest about it than hide it in the hire price and pretend it’s “free delivery”.
The exact fee depends on your postcode — closer to our base costs less, further costs a little more. We’ll always confirm the exact delivery fee when you enquire so there are absolutely no surprises.
