<p>Some children want the front, the microphone and every eye on them. Others find that the worst thing imaginable. Both are completely normal and we have seen both a thousand times.</p>
<p><strong>Tell us when you book if you have any worries</strong> &mdash; shyness, anxiety, Autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivities, anything at all. We adapt the pace, the volume and how we bring them in.</p>
<p>Two of our own children have Autism and ADHD, so this is personal rather than a policy line. We would always rather have that conversation before the day than on it.</p>

<h4>Mascots and characters, three ways</h4>

<p><strong>Surprise mascot &mdash; &pound;25.</strong> The costume, at your party, for an uncle or a grandad to wear. They slip out, the mascot walks in, and the birthday child does not work it out for a good while. Any of our headed mascots, and nothing to pay for transport because we are already there.</p>

<p><strong>Headed mascot &mdash; &pound;40</strong> for 20 minutes. One of our team wears it and works the room, so nobody in your family has to and everyone is in the photographs.</p>

<p><strong>Live character &mdash; &pound;95</strong> for 30 minutes, subject to availability. A performer who talks, poses and runs a routine. Tell us which character and we will confirm.</p>

<h4>And the rest</h4>

<details><summary>What do I need to provide?</summary>
<p>The venue and the food. We bring the blasters, the darts, the goggles, the barricades, the targets and the medals. You will need a standard mains socket and a clear hall floor &mdash; the bigger the better, because the field is what makes this party work.</p></details>

<details><summary>Is it safe? My child is on the small side.</summary>
<p>Yes. Goggles are compulsory, every child gets the safety briefing before a single dart is fired, and we referee it from the front rather than handing out blasters and standing back. The 5 easier-action blasters are there precisely for the younger end &mdash; they need less hand strength, and a grown-up can help with the pumping if needed.</p></details>

<details><summary>Can the parents join in?</summary>
<p>Yes, and they usually do. Dads in particular tend to arrive planning to stand at the back and end up on a team within twenty minutes.</p></details>

<details><summary>Can we add a disco to it?</summary>
<p>Yes &mdash; plenty of people do, so there is something for the ones who would rather dance than battle. Tell us when you book and we will split the two hours between the two.</p></details>

<details><summary>How much space do you need?</summary>
<p>As much clear floor as you can get. A church hall, community centre, school hall or sports hall is ideal. The field needs room for barricades, tunnels and two teams moving past each other, so a small front room will not do it. Send us your venue and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.</p></details>

<details><summary>What about the deposit and paying the balance?</summary>
<p>A &pound;20 deposit secures your date. The balance is payable on the day by card, cash or BACS. No booking fee.</p></details>

<details><summary>Can somebody in our family wear the mascot costume?</summary>
<p>Yes, and that is the <strong>&pound;25 surprise mascot</strong>. It is cheaper than having one of our team wear it because we are already at your party, so there is no journey to pay for. Any of our headed mascots &mdash; tell us which one when you book. Two things to know: the costumes fit somebody <strong>5ft 3in to 6ft of small to medium build</strong>, and we ask that another grown-up walks alongside them, because the heads have very little vision. Most families run the reveal themselves, and the birthday child usually enjoys that more than a stranger in a suit.</p></details>
