The Ultimate Stay & Play

All the party magic. One family Sunday.

Two hours at The LAYCA Centre for babies, toddlers and older brothers and sisters — all together, in the room already dressed for a full Ultimate Party.

📅 10AM – 12PM · THE LAYCA CENTRE, SOLIHULL
Sun 15 November2026
Sun 13 December2026
Sun 24 January2027
Spaces are limited and once a session is full, it’s full.

Who It’s Really For

Not a session for little ones with the big ones dragged along. Every age in the room has something that belongs to them.

👶 Babies

Soft play to crawl on, bubbles to grab at, songs and puppets up close, and a parachute going over their heads. All the colour and music of a full party at a pace that suits them — and somewhere to sit down with them while they take it in.

🧘 Toddlers

The bit they’ve been waiting for. Bouncy castle, mini disco with the lights going, parachute games, bubbles everywhere, party games, and the mascots coming out to dance with them. Short bursts with lots of group singing, so nobody has to concentrate for long.

🤝 Older brothers and sisters

This is the one people don’t expect. The castle is theirs too, the disco is theirs too, and for two hours they get to be the big one — showing their little brother how to bounce, taking their sister round the parachute, getting her to join in with the singing. They go home having played with their little brother or sister, not next to them.

🛡 Colin Takes Charge

That isn’t a slogan, it’s how the room is run. Colin is on a microphone for the whole two hours and he uses it. If something needs saying to sixty people it gets said once, clearly, and everybody hears it. Quietly where that’s enough, out loud when it isn’t.

Our rule is prevention. If we see something happening, or about to happen, we stop it there and then rather than deal with it afterwards. No running, proper use of the castle, little ones given space. Three of us on every session: Colin at the front, one on the castle and soft play, one on the kitchen.

That’s the whole idea. Most weekday groups leave the older ones bored in a corner, so the whole family stops going. Here, one booking covers the lot and everybody gets a morning out of it — including you.

💃 Dads, You’re Not Watching From The Side

Fair warning. Colin will pick you out, and you will end up at the front, in front of everybody, doing The Bendy Knee Baby Shark Dance with the mascots.

It’s the bit the children laugh hardest at, it’s the bit they go on about afterwards, and it’s a great deal more fun than standing at the back holding everybody’s coats.

The Room Is Already A Party

The hall is dressed once for the whole day — balloon arch up, red carpet down, themed decorations and the full disco — and it stays that way. So you walk into exactly the room a family pays £450 for as a birthday party. Not a taster. Not a cut-down version. The complete setup.

What Happens In The Two Hours

A sensory extravaganza — music, colour, movement and noise, with twenty years of weekday nursery sessions behind it, wrapped inside a full Ultimate Party. Colin hosts the lot.

🎤 Songs, puppets and group singing in short bursts

🎉 Mini disco — lights, lasers and sound

🌈 Parachute games for every age at once

🎊 Bubbles, lots of them

🎵 Shakers, bells and instruments to bang

🎰 Supervised bouncy castle, PAT tested

🧸 Soft play for the babies and little ones

🖌 Our mascots out, dancing and joining in

🎮 Party games everybody can do

🤝 Plenty of free play, not two hours of being talked at

🌭 Full Ultimate party food for every child place

🎨 And a quiet corner, for when it all gets a bit much

A colouring table and a cinema screen running a DVD, away from the noise. Little ones can take themselves off for ten minutes, colour something, watch for a bit, then dive back in when they’re ready. It makes a mixed-age room work — and it matters enormously if your child finds a loud hall hard going.

Quick Answers

How much is it?

£12.50 for your first child, including their party food. After that, every other brother or sister is just £5 each and they get the food too. Babies under 1 are £5 without food, because they don’t eat ours. One grown-up comes free with every child, and any extra adults are just £1 each, so bringing the other parent or the grandparents costs next to nothing.

What ages is it for?

All of them, together. Babies, toddlers and older brothers and sisters in the same room at the same time. That’s deliberate, not a compromise — the entertainment runs in short bursts with lots of group singing, and there’s free play, the castle, soft play and the disco around it. Something for a nine month old and something for a seven year old, without either being bored.

Will my older child actually enjoy it?

This is the question we get most, and yes. The bouncy castle, the disco and the party games are every bit as much theirs. What usually happens is they end up looking after the little one — showing them the castle, taking them round the parachute — and that is the bit parents tell us about afterwards.

My child gets overwhelmed in a noisy hall.

There’s a colouring table and a cinema screen showing a DVD, set away from the noise, so they can take themselves out of it for a bit and come back when they’re ready. Tell us when you book and we’ll keep an eye out. Two of our own children have Autism and ADHD, so this isn’t an afterthought for us.

When is it, and what time?

Two hours, 10am until 12pm. The dates are Sunday 15 November 2026, Sunday 13 December 2026 and Sunday 24 January 2027. Further dates will go up here.

Where is it, and is there parking? How to find the LAYCA Centre, Stretton Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 2PZ - use the left gate, turn immediately left, free parking outside

The LAYCA Centre, Stretton Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 2PZ. It’s in the grounds of Light Hall School — use B90 2PZ in your sat-nav, not any other postcode, and come in the left-hand gate. Parking is free and right outside.

What food is included? Party food included: hot dogs or jam and cheese sandwiches, crisps, popcorn, chocolate bar, cucumber sticks and unlimited squash

The same party food we serve at an Ultimate Party: hot dogs (pork, or halal on request) or sandwiches (one cheese and one jam each), plus crisps, a chocolate bar, popcorn, cucumber sticks and squash. That’s included for every £12.50 and £5 brother-or-sister ticket. Babies under 1 don’t have food included — bring whatever yours has.

What about allergies?

Tell us when you book. We check the ingredient label of every product, keep the packaging, and prepare any special food first in a freshly cleaned area. The venue kitchen isn’t an allergen-free kitchen, so we won’t promise a meal is allergen-free if we can’t rule out cross-contact — for a severe allergy we highly recommend bringing that child’s own food, and you’re very welcome to.

Do I stay with my child?

Yes — it’s a stay and play, so children stay with their grown-up throughout. There’s a team of three of us on the session: Colin running the entertainment, one on the kitchen, and one on the bouncy castle and the mascots.

Which mascots will be there?

We bring our own costumes and rotate them, so it isn’t the same ones every month. They come out to join the singing and the dancing rather than just standing for photographs. We don’t promise a particular character in advance — if your child is desperate to see a specific one, WhatsApp us and we’ll tell you what’s planned.

Is this the same as your birthday parties?

Same room, same setup, same host. The difference is that a birthday party is a private booking of the whole venue for one family, and this is a shared session you buy a ticket for. If you’re thinking about a birthday, come to a Stay and Play first and have a proper look at the place.

Looking For A Birthday Party Instead?

The Ultimate Hassle-Free Party is the whole venue, exclusively yours for two hours, with everything done for you. You bring the cake.
